Pantone Colour of the Year 2014: Royal Orchid.

Hello Everyone.
Its Day 3 of So-Saree's Anniversary Blogathon, and I am already feeling the heat of it.
I pray for more strength in this endeavor that I have embarked on. ;)

I have been blogging on So-Saree for a year now, and have been nominated for Liebster and Creative Blogger Awards in the past. But there is one more award that I can win hands down, and that is of
The Most Ignorant and Technologically Backward Blogger.

When I stated blogging there were a lot of jargon's that I came across, which every blogger was supposed to know. But I, had to Google about them or call up my very helpful blogger friends who enlightened me regarding these terms.
One such term that I came across was the "Pantone Colour".
On Googling about it and after speaking to my friends I finally understood what the fuss was all about.
But the stubborn person in me simply refuses to follow trends for the heck of it. I wear what I like, and no trend, celebrity or brand can force me into trying something that I don't like.

But when the Pantone Colour of the Year 2014 was declared it made me really happy.
Why???
Because Royal Orchid or Radiant Orchid or whatever you may want to call it, is a color that I love.
So finally I may be on track with the latest trend, and I don't mind it at all.;)
In fact last year I had sported this color on my Nails, and received many a compliments for it.

Scroll down and see for yourself.

The Nail paints that I used are Loreal Butterfy Kisses 380 and Pink Me Up 280.

Food Food

Its Day 2 of the Blogathon, and I am already running out of ideas.
So today when I started writing, I coudn't think of anything for long. It was so long, that it made me hungry.
That..
I think was a sign..A sign from heaven!(lol)
And then I thought why not blog something about food. :)

Food has been an integral part of my life and I am quite a foodie. Since I do not prefer eating out too much, I end up cooking a lot. In spite of that, I have managed to post only one recipe on So-Saree till date. So in order to make some amends, I am dedicating this entire post to food only.
I am not posting any recipes here, but I am sure you will love to have a look at what's been cooking at the So-Saree Kitchen in the past year.
Scroll down and see for yourself.

So-Saree Highlights - 2013

A Very Happy New Year Everyone.

The year 2013 has been the most hectic year of my life, but I would like to add that it has also been the most fruitful. All the hard work that was put up in 2013, will finally reap results in 2014 and further too.
All said and done, 2013 was really special for me because my blog So-Saree took off in January 2013.
Can't believe its been so long.
I feel so nostalgic today and so to revel some more, in the nostalgia, I am reliving the 12 months of blogging on So-Saree.
In short, the highlights for 2013.

January:
Jan - The month So-Saree took off. The first post will always be very close to my heart, because it featured my beautiful Mom.

February:

February was my Birthday month, and I forced all my readers to sink in the birthday mood by celebrating birthdays of all my favorite celebrities. My birthday post featuring the Newspaper Nail Art which I tried for the first time, has been a huge hit with my readers and I still receive inquiries about how I did them.
This was also the month I won the first Blog Award-The Liebster Award. Thank you so much everyone for being so supportive.

March:

In the month of March I received my second blog award-The Creative Blogger Award, joined Bloglovin and confessed my love for Masaba Gupta.
I also posted my technique of doing the easiest DIY Nail Art, The Bindi Nail Art.

April:

The second of April, is World Autism Awareness Day, and Sayuri's guest post on Autism has been a post that So-Saree is really proud of publishing.

May:

In the month of May, So-Saree celebrated Mothers Day for the whole month. My fav post definitely has to be the one featuring My Favourite Mommy Bloggers, but by popular vote, it has to be the post on Princes Diana.

June:

The month of June saw me introducing my Biggest Critic - My Sister on the blog. But what stole the show in June was a post on Jiah Khan. This was an impromptu post and straight out of my heart. No wonder it connected so well with my readers.

July:

The month of July saw me posting my first and only recipe till date on So-Saree: The Stuffed Chillies. The simple procedure make this dish a hit everywhere.

August:

August celebrates Friendship, and so at So-Saree we took this opportunity to thank all my blogger friends who have supported and nurtured this blog at various stages. This month was also the month that featured my first sponsored post. Thank you Craftsvilla for giving us an opportunity to be associated with you.

September:

Here I confessed my love for blogging and the reason behind me starting a blog.

October:

The highlight for October was the post: The Story of Gandhi Pants. A real incident in my life that was so funny that it had to be documented.

November:

The month of November was really special for me as it documented my favourite rituals associated with my favourite festival Diwali. My favourite post: Narak Chaturdashi.

December:

The month of December has been the most hectic for me, professionally as well as personally, which also saw me ignoring So-Saree too much. I felt guilty and sorry, but I had no option.
I somehow managed 3 posts in December, and my favourite one was Opposites Attract.

That's it. I had so much fun compiling this list.
I can't believe that I have been blogging for the last 12 months and that also means that So-Saree will celebrate its First Anniversary soon. With less than a week left, I am still clueless about my Blog Anniversary plans and would really like some help. Please drop in any suggestions in the comments box and make my life easier. Till then, keep well.

Opposites Attract.

Yes, I do agree on that.. what else could possibly explain me and my husband?
Poles apart, yet inseparable.

>He loves silence, I think it's a crime.
>I love to dress, he doesn't.( secretly happy about that.)
>In our relationship, he wears the pants..literally too..You know I am a saree person. ;)
>He's a Workaholic, me..no points for guessing..a SHOPAHOLIC.
>I love to socialize, he enjoys his own company...!
>He cuts his nails, I file them.
>He likes to save, I love to shop. [Works for me either way ;)]
>Brands for him mean Apple, Sony, Samsung and for me #Sabyasachi, #SatyaPaul and #RituKumar.

But there's one thing we have in common,
We love our spouse's, and that's enough for us to go on.

It was on this day 3 years ago, that our destiny's were entwined with each other.
Here's to Celebrating Many More Years of this Beautiful Day! ;)
Happy Anniversary Husband.

Review: Elavo Toilet Seat Sanitizer.

Order Here.
How many times, have you been to a public places like malls, auditoriums, theatres and sighed at the site of western style of toilets. As far as using them in public places is concerned, no matter how clean they may look, I can't help but wonder, how many people must have stuck their 'behinds' on it. And do I have to touch mine too?? Eeew..even thinking about it gives me goosebumps, imagine writing about it.
I had always wished, I could do something to escape this nightmare.

A very wise man (read: husband) had once said: When in doubt ask #Google.
And that's what I did!! (I know..I know..I am #Pativrata)This is what I found.
Elavo-Toilet Seat Sanitizer Spray.
This is how it works:
Simply spray from a distance of 25 cms on the entire toilet seat, wait for 5 secs and the seat is ready to use.
You can also spray it on contaminated toilet taps, toilet flush, door knobs for complete safety.
It is available in 3 flavors: Limee, Clinica and Freska. (Though I personally prefer Freska, Limee and Clinica are not bad either.)
Price: a 75 ml spray can costs Rs. 99.
Not bad I say.
Now Isn't that cool?
I am so in love with this product that it has found permanent residence in my handbag.
So what say, when are u going the Elavo way?

P.S. This is not a sponsored post.

Diwali in Pictures.

I have been exactly a month away from my blog. And that makes me sad and happy at the same time. Sad because I missed blogging, and happy, because it just reaffirms the fact, that I want to and will always blog. Also, being the control freak that I am I consider this absence from the blog world, as a failure on my part. But I read somewhere that "The number of times you fail the more closer you are to success" or so I would like to believe. So I am a little relieved too.
Anyways.
My Diwali inspired posts were supposed to get over in November, but due to the sudden turn of events, the plans were foiled. I was supposed to write about two more rituals, Bhaubeej and Padwa before I wrapped up my Diwali posts, but I guess I will hold on to them until next year. I mean who would like to read about Diwali during Xmas?
So to wrap up the Diwali posts, and also because I am too pressed for time to write any more, I am sharing a few pics from my Diwali celebrations 2013. Whether you like them or not, I know you will comment. ;)
Love you guys and thanks for sticking on.
