Happy Navratri : Day 3: WHITE Colour

Day 3 of Navratri is dedicated to the worship of Maa Chandraghanta. The colour of the day is White which represents peace, calm, serenity and purity.
The saree I am wearing here is called Panetar and is one of my wedding sarees. Panetar and Gharchola are part of Kutchi bridal wear and since I had a Kutchi wedding, I had worn it in my wedding. Since, it is in the classic combination of white and red, I decided to drape it in Bengali style. Special thanks to my MIL for helping me drape this one, with the help of YouTube videos. I couldn't have managed it alone. A big red bindi, gold jewelry and a red floral clutch helped complete the look.

The pot I am holding in my hand is called a Garba and is part of Navratri celebrations in Gujarati households. The Garba is worshiped twice a day by lighting a diya inside it and singing bajans and hymns.
